i lost my journal on the way to zürich
i’ve been adding an entry roughly once daily for the last 7 months, and now it’s all disappeared. it’s incredibly frustrating to think that every thought and complaint and hope that i’ve experienced in the better part of a year is now naked and exposed to some random individual, or the bottom of a trashbag. i can’t remember if i ever wrote a return address inside it,...

wow, i have been busy.
since i’ve started working full time (for no money), i’ve been traveling every weekend. two weekends ago I went to Freiburg to visit friends and go sledding, last weekend i went to Düsseldorf and Köln for Karneval, and this weekend i’ll be visiting my uncle and his family in Zürich to go skiing! I’m pretty excited but i have never been so thoroughly busy.

an old, whisper-thin man gets on the bus. he is wrapped in a trench coat which so completely overwhelms his wasted frame that I think, ”he is entrenched in his coat.” He sits down by a middle-aged woman, after nearly falling when the bus lurches back into transit. The lady is overweight, and her bundled sides encroach on the rightful seat-territory of the fading man. He is so far...
